Google Analytics Tricks To Maximize Your Marketing Campaign

1. Create Goals. Goals are one of the simplest features to use in Google Analytics, but they’re also one of the most neglected. Head to Admin > Goals > New Goal to set up your first goal. For most sites, conversion is the most important goal, and Google has many templates to choose from in order to track conversions effectively. Once set up, you’ll be able to monitor your conversion progress at a glance.

2. Create Custom Dashboards. Go to Dashboards > New Dashboard to create your first dashboard—you can have up to 20 at any given time. Once you select your opening template, you can add as many widgets as you would like (widgets include both standard and real-time data projections for almost any metric you can think of). This is extremely useful for generating a consistent report or high-level view of your overall progress.

3. Set Custom Alerts. Not all of us have time to check Analytics every day for unusual activity. That’s why custom alerts are useful. Go to Admin > Custom Alerts, and you’ll be able to “Create New Alert” for one of several different actions or behaviors. You can apply the alert to All Traffic or just a segment of your traffic, and set the alert to go off when a certain metric rises or falls dramatically within a given period of time. The alert will send you an email or text message when the condition is met.

4. Stop Tracking Yourself. If you care about your website, you probably visit often to make sure everything is working in proper order or to manage and update content. This is great, but your visits could be skewing your traffic information in Analytics. In order to exclude yourself and your coworkers from Analytics data, set up a filter under the “Admin” panel. If you have a static IP address, go to All Filters > Add New Filter, and set a Predefined Filter to Exclude traffic from your given IP address.

5. Integrate Google Webmaster Tools. If you haven’t already set up Google Webmaster Tools for your site, I highly recommend doing so. Webmaster Tools will give you insights Google Analytics can’t offer, such as information about the links pointing to your site, impression data, index issues, manual spam actions, and even organic search keyword impression and click data. If you connect your Webmaster Tools account with your Analytics account, you’ll gain access to new reports such as Queries, Landing Pages, and Geographical Summary.

Android grabs 85 per cent of smartphone market

WASHINGTON: Smartphones powered by the Android operating system captured 85 percent of the worldwide market in the second quarter, threatening to marginalize rival platforms, a new survey shows.
Strategy Analytics said overall smartphone  shipments were up 27 percent from a year ago to 295 million, with most of the growth in devices using Android, the free mobile system from Google.
Apple's  iPhone  managed to increase sales to 35 million in the quarter, the survey showed, but Apple's global market share fell to 11.9 percent from 13.4 percent a year ago, said the report released Wednesday.
"Android is on the verge of turning smartphone platforms into a one-horse race," said Strategy Analytics executive director Neil Mawston.
"Its low-cost services and user-friendly software remain wildly attractive to hardware makers, operators and consumers worldwide. Rival OS vendors are going to have to do something revolutionary to overturn Android's huge lead in smartphone shipments."
Mawston said the only significant threats to Android are the large-screen iPhones expected to come from Apple  later this year and the ultra-low cost Firefox phones.
Global smartphone growth in the past quarter is at its lowest level for five years, according to the survey, but there are wide regional differences.
"Africa and Asia are booming, while North America and Europe are maturing," said analyst  Linda Sui.
According to Strategy Analytics, Microsoft saw Windows Phone sales decline to eight million units in the quarter from 8.9 million a year ago. That dropped its market share to 2.7 percent from 3.8 percent.
BlackBerry's woes are deepening, according to the survey, which found unit sales tumbling 66 percent to 1.9 million, and market share falling to 0.6 percent.
A report earlier this week from research firm  IDC  showed smartphone sales at a similar level of 295 million, with the largest gains coming from Chinese makers  Lenovo  and  Huawei .

Computer Aided Process Planning


Technological advances are reshaping the face of manufacturing, creating paperless manufacturing environments in which computer automated process planning (CAPP) will play a preeminent role. This is primarily due to increasing use of LANs; IGES and the like are facilitating transfer of data from one point to another on the network; and relational databases (RDBs) and associated structured query language (SQL) allow distributed data processing and data access.
With the introduction of computers in design and manufacturing, the process planning part needed to be automated.
